GSE Research and Greenleaf Publishing are proud to be partnering with the Italian Association for Management Education (ASFOR) to launch the ASFOR Annual Case Writing Competition.

The competition aims to enhance and promote the case study method as an educational tool in management, and to help disseminate the very best cases internationally through publication.

The contest – which is free to all participants – will select the best original business cases for inclusion in a collection and the overall winner will receive a cash prize. Each case must be developed with particular reference to the Italian context and be on the theme of management either in companies (large and SMEs), public administration or the third sector. The cases must be written in English.

The author of the best case will receive a prize of €1,000.00, awarded by GSE Research and Greenleaf Publishing and a plaque of recognition by ASFOR. In the year of Expo 2015 “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, ASFOR will devote a special prize of €500 for the best case study on sustainability.

“The Case Writing Competition” – explains President Vladimir Nanut of ASFOR – “has as its primary goal to give international visibility to quality case studies which are developed by researchers and trainers in management. In particular, ASFOR wants to highlight the best practices of Italian companies, and the supply chains that characterize the Italian production system such as in the agro-food industry, with a view to encouraging innovation. ”

John Peters, CEO of GSE Research and Greenleaf Publishing stated: “We are delighted to support the ASFOR Case Writing Competition. It encourages the very best case study writing and promotes the strengths of Italian business practice, which is amongst the best in the world. Case studies are an important method for translating research into clear practical application and the theme of the EXPO 2015 of ‘Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life’ reflects the Greenleaf Publishing ethos perfectly.”

ASFOR was established in 1971 with the aim of developing the managerial culture in Italy and qualifying the supply of management training. For more information about ASFOR, please visit
